A couple of years ago, ex-MMA fighter Gina Carano got booted from the hit Star Wars show Mandalorian for tweets mocking the use of pronouns, ridiculing mask wearing, and (the final straw) comparing cancel culture to the Holocaust -- PBS
In a show of support, Ben Shapiro and his right-wing media company The Daily Wire put her in the movie “Terror on the Prairie”. Carano said she was now free to speak her mind. But AV Club said the film didn’t go over well -- making just $13k
Uproxx said there was some irony here: Conservatives themselves thought the movie was “too woke”. The “strong woman” plot felt too much like a Hollywood movie
Indy100: Conservatives’ distaste for the film just proves right-wingers love to complain. The Daily Wire and Shapiro promoted the movie as a mainstream film made without a “liberal agenda”. Somehow, conservatives dinged it anyway
But Hollywoodintoto.com said people, including conservatives, *did* like the film. The movie scored 84% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. People online are cherry-picking bad reviews to make Gina look bad

And GeeksUnderGrace.com still considered the movie a modest win for The Daily Wire: Even though the film was just okay, it proves big stars like Gina can survive even after they’ve been canceled by liberal Hollywood
By the way, Gina defended the low numbers by explaining that wasn’t in theaters; it was released on Daily Wire’s streaming service -- so the box office numbers don’t reflect the film’s success. Read her tweet here
